So I wanted to build a farm table out of wood from the family’s barn. I replaced several of the original tie beams with newer wood and support struts and happily went to work with the amazing old barn wood I had stolen acquired. The Graining is so deep and filled with character. It’s held together with dowels and traditional breadboard ends. I had to give it ALOT of wiggle room because the width increases over an inch in the wet season. It’s a beautiful table that I finished in Linseed oil and beeswax.
